ON STAGE Theatre Arts Academy

Since its formation in June 2002 ON STAGE THEATRE ARTS ACADEMY has gone from strength to strength and has achieved an excellent reputation as a performing arts academy. We take students on our courses from 5 to 18 years of age.

COURSES

We offer two courses:

The Combined Course - A weekly two hour course which includes drama, musical theatre and dance.

The Senior Drama/Musical Theatre Course - This course is available only to students over 13 and consists of a weekly one hour drama lesson with a two hour session every third week for musical theatre.

PERFORMANCE

All our students get chance to perform in one of our two major theatre productions - one of which is a musical. Over the past three years we have presented "The Wind in the Willows", "The Wizard of Oz" and this year we are presenting the West Yorkshire Premier of "The Railway Children" - the musical.

SUMMER SCHOOL

Each August we hold two three day workshops at The Carriageworks. The first week is musical theatre and the second a drama workshop. These sessions are always very popular and numbers are limited so pre-booking is essential.

WHY is ON STAGE different?

At ON STAGE we aim to give our students a stimulating all round training in all aspects of performing arts and theatre skills. Whether they aspire to perform in musical theatre or drama or learn more about other strands of theatre related arts; are an absolute beginner or an experienced performer ON STAGE has something to capture their interest, develop their potential, increase their knowledge and encourage their creativity.

Because our classes are small each child's learning needs are recognised and can therefore be developed. We have three sections Junior, Intermediate and Senior and we differentiate their learning according to their age and ability.

The staff at On Stage are all qualified teachers and lecturers in their own particular sphere. Their expertise is backed up by professional experience in the theatre, broadcasting and TV.

We also give private lessons and audition coaching for students at all levels including those who are seeking admission to higher education or drama schools.
